Penny Hanson, 61, of Danville, IN passed peacefully into Heaven on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019. She is survived by her loving husband of over 38 years, Frank Hanson of Danville, IN; her children Nate (Courtney) Williams, Tanya (Brandon) Barnett, Sean (Tina) Parsons, and Katie Hanson; her brother Mark Pittman; several nieces and nephews; and the little loves of her life–her grandchildren: Lane, Ella, Gavin, Richard, Brock, and Nikki.
She was born in Indianapolis, IN to Jerry Pittman of Indianapolis, who currently resides in Florida, and Janet Jehn, who preceded her in death.
Along with dedicating her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren, Penny was the Executive Director of a Christian daycare and preschool for nearly 27 years. Children were her passion and she touched the lives of many throughout her career.
She enjoyed gardening, golfing, and laughing; playing cards with her card club girls, visiting wineries with her husband, and soaking up every moment with her grandkids. The color she brought to life will be missed by everyone as her infectious laugh was loved by all.
To honor her wishes, a private service was held by family prior to her cremation and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
All arrangements were expertly handled by Indiana Funeral Care.

I am so sorry to hear of Penny’s passing. I have know here for 24 years. All 4 of my children went to Buttons and Bows Daycare. My oldest is 25 and my youngest is 11. I thought Penny was great! She was always so good to the kids and I loved talking to her. My prayers to Frank, her children and the family.

Penny you were so good to me so good to my kids! The love for you stayed strong always in my heart! And always will. You touched more lives than you’ll ever know. Mine included. We always split our buy one get one free lunch ha! Our morning mocha latte. Hanging my head out the window on that blizzard day to help you stay on the road only to have to turn around and bring the kids back, so many memories, memories I will always cherish. Thoughts and prayers to Frank and family.
